Patrícia Dockhorn Costa is a lecturer at the Federal University of Espirito Santo, Brazil. Her research interests are on context-awareness, ubiquitous computing and service-oriented architectures.

Patrícia was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She received her Computer Science bachelor degree in 2000 in the "Federal University of Espírito Santo" (Vitória, Brazil), and her Master of Science in Telematics degree with honours from the University of Twente in August, 2003, with the Master Thesis: Towards a Service Platform for Context-Aware Applications [pdf]. In September 2003, she joined the Architecture and Services of Network Applications group of the Computer Science Department of the University of Twente, and received her Ph.D. from that university in 2007, with the thesis entitled Architectural Support for Context-Aware Applications: From Context Models to Services Platforms. During her Ph.D. she has participated in the WASP project, and in the Dutch Awareness project, supported by the Freeband Program.
